Jimmy in Pienk won Best Feature Film at the Beloit International Film Festival outside Chicago yesterday.
The movie competed against mostly American independent films and after speaking to members of the jury, they voted for Jimmy in Pienk because the “movie felt quite foreign and at the same time very familiar. They could identify with it and root for the characters, even though the film was shot on a different continent. The style of the film seemed fresh to them, but also the fact that it still had a lot of heart.”
